There are two small pebble beaches in Stari Grad, on either side of the inlet. The nearest to the Villa is a short walk away along the quayside, very safe for kids.
You can walk, cycle or hire a boat and visit beaches which are found tucked away all over the Island.
There is a leaflet-map on sale at newsagents and souvenir shops (there will be a copy in the Villa unless someone walks off with it!) that shows the location, and has photographs of some of the best beaches on the island. You may want to buy some protective beach sandals (but there are plenty for sale for Kuna 50) for some of the more rocky beaches.
You could also take a day trip to the iconic beach Zlatni Rat at Bol on the neighbouring island of Brač. The latest luxury is a private beach in Hvar town but you need to pay – services include a recliner and umbrella, drinks, cocktails and food on order, and for extra pampering highly recommended massages.
